Female Travelers: does the around-the-neck passport holder work?
Hi all,
I am about to go abroad to Costa Rica for a month. Everyone is saying that petty theft is by far the biggest problem. Here in North Carolina, I usually carry a purse with a wallet, but I am afraid that my purse will get stolen in Costa Rica.
I am interested in the passport/money/credit card holder that hangs around your neck, but I some of the shirts that I plan on wearing have a V-neck or scoop neck, so I'm afraid that the necklace part will always be showing, or that you will be able to see the outline of the passport case under my shirt. I was wondering if any other ladies have used a device like this- did it work out okay? Or did you find that a money belt or other type of holder is more convenient.

It will work and it will be safer than a purse, but it is not completely safe nor really convenient if you wear open necked thin shirts or blouses.
I prefer the pouch you wear in the top of your jeans, (or whatever you wear instead,) less obvious, more secure and less likely to be stolen.
I even use it when wearing skirts, but I do often wear leggings unders skirts and have the pouch inside those.
