Urgent help on foreign travel... I leave in 3 days...?
I'm going to Europe and Africa on an educational tour program (I'll be in France, Spain, and Morocco). I was told that packing procedures have changed even more due to security... I heard that no bottles above 3 oz. of liquid could be carried, but I didn't hear whether that was in the suitcase, or the carryon... I didn't figure you could take any liquids with you in the carryon, but I was just wondering...cause I bought a huge bottle of Suave shampoo and conditioner, and one little 3 oz bottle is not going to get me by for 2 weeks... And if there's anything else important I should know, feel free to tell, please? I appreciate the help...
Two things. As others have mentioned, the 3 oz rule is only for luggage carried on the plane. Anything you check can have a larger bottle in it. I regularly travel with lots of conditions (long hair lol) and even bottles of wine. No problem in checked luggage.
Second, they do indeed have conditioner and shampoo in these places. I lived for two months in Germany, and I promise that I did not carry over enough conditioner for the whole time! I stopped in grocery stores or drug stores and picked stuff up. Plus it is a little bit fun to check out how the stores are in a different part of the world.
Have fun, keep an eye on your money (do you have a money belt) and passport, and just relax!
