Should I move my 2 year old to a booster seat?
He's roughly 36 lbs and a little over 3 ft and he's recently learned how to unbuckle the chest buckle in his car seat. And when he wears a bulky coat he can barely fit in there. However he occasionaly undoes the seat belt buckle that straps the car seat to the car (just to annoy me), he knows its not safe to unbuckle when the car's movin. His brother (3 1/2) went into a booster at 3 (they're about the same size). Would it be ok to have a 2 year old in one?
Check with the guidlines for your state ( assuming you live in the U.S.A) . For most states they must be 4 and 40 pounds to move to the booster that uses only the cars seat belt and doesn't have a built in harness. If you can i would buy a seat that will later covert to a booster. That way you get a new seat that will have the LATCH system assuming that your car also has the LATCH system. He won't be able to unbuckle this and if he unbuckles the harness part stop the car and buckle him back in.
