Is it against the rules for a baserunner to take a running start to tag up on a fly ball?
Suppose a runner is on third base with less than two out and a fly ball is hit to the outfield.
Can a baserunner backtrack a bit towards second base and attempt to start running for home such that he tags third base just after the fielder catches the ball?
The idea here would be to eliminate the need to accelerate from a standing start by hitting the bag at full speed, even though this would be difficult to time correctly and he must take a somewhat rounded path towards home.
Regardless of whether or not it would increase his chances of advancing/scoring, would this be against any of the rules?

7.10 Any runner shall be called out, on appeal, when-
(a) After a fly ball is caught, he fails to retouch his original base before he or his original base is tagged; "Retouch," in this rule, means to tag up and start from a contact with the base after the ball is caught. A runner is not permitted to take a flying start from a position in back of his base.
