European Plug problem?
Can you buy EU plugs that you can attach yourself just like the UK ones where you unscrew them. I dont want a travel adaptor, i just want to change the plug for an EU one but all the ones i have seen are sealed units.
Can you get then and if so where?
Usually the two-pin plugs (type C) are sealed, the plugs which have additional grounding can be unscrewed and attached. The different countries however have different grounding systems and the plug would only be suitable for certain countries. For example in Germany you could only affix the type F plug to your UK equipment, but it would not work in France, you would need the type E. So if you just have one destination you'll be good to go, if you should however plan to do country hopping an adapter would be the more feasible solution. I don't think that you can buy plugs for Europe in the UK you should buy them in the country where they are needed. When the son of a friend went to his exchange year to England he just took a seperate adapter cable for his notebook-charger with him and went to a small electricians shop where he got the UK plug fixed.
