baggage allowance please help?
travelling soon on charter flight to luxor.
allowance is 20kg per person.
we are a family of 4. 2 adults x1 16yr old and x1 10yr old.
can we combine our allowed baggage weight into 2 cases ( therefore each case would weigh 40kg each) or do we have to take x4 seperate cases each weighing 20kg?
Depends on the airline and check in desk.
There is a limit to manual handling of 25kg per piece, anything over that and the baggage handlers have to use mechanical means or team work to lift the cases, which incurs costs and time delays to the airline, where as 20kg can be handled by 1 baggage handler.
2 Adults can carry a case each, 16 year old certainly can as well, and 10 year old probably can manage a bag too - so long as you have enough bags then your family can all carry come luggage. Careful packing can cut down what you need to take too
