When traveling overseas do I need a power adapter or transformer to use a Playstation 3?
I am taking my son's Playstation 3 to Argentina where he is on vacation. The energy in Argentina is 220 volts instead of the 110 volts we have here in the USA.
My question is do I need an energy transformer for the Playstation or a power adapter?
Reaso I ask that these days computers and phones already come with the conversion and there is no need for a transformer.
Please let me know so that I do not make a mistake!

theres a good chance you might, but your best bet is to call sony and make sure, because what i remember about electrical is that even if the power is 220, the outlet is what matters. just because the house is 220 doesnt mean the outlet itself is. for instance most restaurants are 220v in the us, but their outlets run the 110-120v @maybe 15-30 A but their ovens, friers, etc run on the 220v. have him test the outlet for voltage, and if it reads 220-230 call sony and ask. if it reads 110-120, you should be fine
