becuse i can wire a plug that has blue and brown wires easy but a adapter wire has grey wire and a black wire how can i wire it?
Kyle - I guess you mean the output lead from the adaptor has a grey wire and a black wire?
Usually the outout is DC, and the black wire is DC- connection, so grey will be DC+
If in doubt, borrow a test meter to be sure.
The socket should also be marked + and - and most have a circular "barrel" connector where the outer part is negative, and the inner part is + connection.
It always pays to check, in case yours is non standard.
The best connection for a barrel plug to a mains adaptor has to be soldered, preferably with heat-shrink sleeving over each joint, but insulating tape will do
